In the Chemical Abstracts Service

Gabriela Kowalska, PhD has been selected by the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), operating under the American Chemical Society, as CAS Ambassador in Poland for the period from February 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027. CAS is one of the world's most important institutions for collecting and analyzing chemical information, supporting scientists through advanced tools and databases. The CAS Ambassador Program brings together leading young scientific leaders, selected directly by the organization based on their achievements, activity, and teaching engagement. Its goal is to develop the academic community through the promotion of modern information resources, including the CAS SciFinder Discovery Platform.

In her role, Dr. Kowalska will conduct training sessions and presentations, disseminate knowledge about CAS tools, and collaborate with scientists to identify research needs and opportunities for using available solutions. Her activities will also include pointing out potential areas of cooperation between CAS and the academic community, as well as initiating valuable partnerships and events.
The researcher works at the Institute of Food Technology and Analysis at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences.

In the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society
An equally significant distinction has been awarded to Igor Zubrycki, PhD who has been elected Chairman of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society in Poland for the 2026–2027 term. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world's largest professional organization uniting engineers and scientists, promoting technological development, and its Robotics and Automation Society section plays a key role in advancing research in robotics and automation.

Dr. Zubrycki, an assistant professor at the Institute of Automatic Control at the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering, promises active efforts to integrate the robotics community in Poland. As he emphasizes, he is particularly focused on strengthening international contacts and greater involvement from both industry and students.

The Polish section of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society organizes scientific-technical seminars and instructional sessions, supporting the development of research, education, and business collaboration.

Dr. Zubrycki's research interests include human–robot interaction, robots and devices for neurological hand rehabilitation, soft robotics, haptics, and manipulator control. He is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications and patents related to hand and wrist rehabilitation devices. He also leads the interdisciplinary Robots for Humans research team, which develops practical solutions supporting therapy and rehabilitation.

Both distinctions not only highlight the individual achievements of the scientists but also strengthen the international position of Lodz University of Technology as a center actively participating in the global exchange of knowledge and innovation.
