The Open Day, organized by the Faculty of Chemistry for the third time, presented chemistry not only as a science, but also as an aid to understanding the world and making informed decisions. Chemistry plays a tremendous role in everyday life and bears on social progress.

Modern interiors housing 1 000 m2 of laboratory space decorated with a touch of industrial edginess have now been opened at TUL to facilitate collaboration on interdisciplinary creative projects. It is not often that universities in Poland can offer this type of facility.

On February 15 2024, prof. dr hab. inż. Dorota Żyżelewicz, a researcher at the Institute of Food Technology and Analysis at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Science, by the decision of the President of the Republic of Poland dated April 22, 2021, was awarded the academic title of professor in the discipline of food and nutrition technology in the field of agricultural sciences.
Lodz University of Technology is now a partner in the Universities of the Future project, whose lead is the National Center for Research and Development (NCBR). The agreement was signed (May 13) by the Vice-Rector for Education, dr. hab. inż. Andrzej Romanowski, university professor, and by the representatives of twelve other Polish universities.
‘These days, manual hand scanning has become increasingly cumbersome and inefficient. Not only is it a time-consuming process, but it may even lead to inaccurate results’, Antoni Bryłka and Witold Sierocki, biomedical engineering students of Lodz University of Technology, explain. Their Skanmaster design submitted in KOKOS, a student design competition, won them a Heros of Design award.

The solemn session of the Senate on the occasion of the anniversary of the establishment of Lodz University of Technology was held in the Professor Tadeusz Paryjczak Auditorium, brimming with guests and members of the university community.
During the Łódź City Council meeting (17.05), decorations For Meritable Service to the City of Łódź were awarded. Among the decorated were prof. Małgorzata Iwona Szynkowska-Jóźwik and dr hab. Katarzyna Zimna, university prof.
EduCare is a project of the Student Government of Lodz University of Technology the purpose of which is to provide academic support to children living in Łódź orphanages. Academic assistance to kids who have no support from their family is really important for a number of reasons, several of them being crucial.

The Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP) and the National Center for Research and Development (NCRD), sponsored the idea to organize the Korea-Poland Energy Efficiency Technology Cooperation Forum in Seoul. In the 16th edition of the Forbes Diamon Award, Lodz University of Technology has been announced to be among the most dynamically developing companies in Poland. The regional gala for the łódzkie and Świętokrzyskie regions was held on May 21. Lodz University of Technology was rated 13th in the region, next to companies with revenues exceeding 250 million złoty.

Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik was re-elected rector of Lodz University of Technology for the term 2024-2028. He had no competitors, which confirms that his standing at the university is strong. The vote, held on April 25, 2024, was attended by 111 electors, 90 of whom voted in approval of the candidate, prof. Jóźwik.
