QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 – one of the most prestigious and influential rankings of higher education institutions worldwide. In the recently published report, Lodz University of Technology once again confirmed its strong international standing. This year’s edition brought particular success: the university was ranked in five disciplines, appearing for the first time in two new categories.

Lodz University of Technology has signed a cooperation agreement with Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU). The document signing ceremony took place on March 12, 2026, in Hong Kong. Lodz University of Technology was represented by Prof. Paweł Strumiłło, who attended the event on behalf of the university rector. From HKMU's side, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives Prof. Alan Au and Prof. Roy Vellaisamy from the School of Science and Technology were present.

The latest results of the international SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) 2026 have been published. In this year's edition, Lodz University of Technology recorded a clear advancement, taking 1075th place worldwide, which is an improvement of 133 positions compared to the previous year.

From 16 to 20 March 2026, the International Cooperation Centre of Lodz University of Technology organised another edition of Mobility Week 2025/2026 – an event dedicated to promoting international mobility among students and staff. It was an intensive week filled with meetings, inspiration, and practical information about opportunities to go abroad within the Erasmus+ programme and cooperation with partner universities worldwide.

The SELF-energy project, implemented under the M-ERA.NET 3 Call 2025 program, aims to create a modern facade system for low-energy buildings. SELF—Smart, Efficient, and Lightweight Facade—is set to revolutionize how we think about insulation and energy production in construction.

Three projects involving researchers from Lodz University of Technology (TUL) have been selected among four initiatives recommended for funding in the third edition of the M‑ERA.NET 3 programme. The research covers innovative materials for medicine, environmentally friendly foundry technologies, and intelligent façade systems for energy‑efficient construction.

Among the winners of the 6th edition of the “Student Research Clubs Create Innovations” programme were three clubs from Lodz University of Technology, which will be carrying out their projects over the next 12 months. The Minister of Science and Higher Education awarded funding to 120 student ideas selected from 400 entries submitted to the competition.

The report “Industry X.0 – Analysis of the Industrial Sector in Lodz and the Metropolitan Area” was prepared by a team of experts from Lodz University of Technology on commission from the City of Lodz (Invest in Lodz). This comprehensive analysis was presented on 26 February 2026 at the Faculty of Organization and Management. Participants included, among others, Rector of Lodz University of Technology Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, Dean of the Faculty of Organization and Management Prof. Karol Klimczak, and Director of Invest in Lodz Mateusz Sipa.
