Lodz University of Technology has signed a cooperation agreement with Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU). The document signing ceremony took place on March 12, 2026, in Hong Kong. Lodz University of Technology was represented by Prof. Paweł Strumiłło, who attended the event on behalf of the university rector. From HKMU's side, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives Prof. Alan Au and Prof. Roy Vellaisamy from the School of Science and Technology were present.

The latest results of the international SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) 2026 have been published. In this year's edition, Lodz University of Technology recorded a clear advancement, taking 1075th place worldwide, which is an improvement of 133 positions compared to the previous year.

Among the winners of the 6th edition of the “Student Research Clubs Create Innovations” programme were three clubs from Lodz University of Technology, which will be carrying out their projects over the next 12 months. The Minister of Science and Higher Education awarded funding to 120 student ideas selected from 400 entries submitted to the competition.

Prof. Stanisław Bielecki, an outstanding scientist and Rector of Lodz University of Technology from 2008 to 2016, has been appointed Ambassador of the World Bioeconomy Association (WBA) for Poland and the Baltic States.
This distinction is a natural consequence of his many years of scientific, organizational, and international activity dedicated to the development of industrial biotechnology and the bioeconomy. The role combines representing the idea of a global bioeconomy with actively supporting cooperation among science, industry, and public administration in the Central and Eastern European and Baltic regions.
