Lodz University of Technology is implementing a project worth over PLN 15,000,000 to improve the university's accessibility for students and staff. The ongoing process of organisational and architectural changes will translate into higher competences of Lodz University of Technology staff, adjustment of education to the needs of people with disabilities and increased equal opportunities and non-discrimination.
The 77th academic year in the history of Lodz University of Technology will begin on October 1st. In the winter semester, classes for all forms and levels of studies will be conducted in a combined manner, i.e. through direct contact with the teachers on the premises of Lodz University of Technology, as well as using distance learning methods and tools.
Friday, 17 September, will be the day of two important ceremonies at Lodz University of Technology. The first of them is the opening of the building Alchemium - the magic of chemistry of tomorrow and naming the representative lecture hall located there after Professor Tadeusz Paryjczak, whose commemorative plaque will be unveiled in the hall in front of the auditorium. The ceremony will begin at 10:00.
Two hours later, Professor Klaus Müllen, a German scientist of international renown in the scientific community, will receive an honorary doctorate of Lodz University of Technology.
Both ceremonies will take place in the Alchemium building (building A34), 114 Żeromskiego Street.
The President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, granted the title of professor of engineering sciences to Assoc. Prof. Eng. Dorota Kręgiel, from the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences and Assoc. Prof. Eng. Marcin Janicki, from the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering
A partner of Lodz University of Technology, DIGICA, a company specialising in developing software based on advanced artificial intelligence for the medical and defence industries, has opened a new office in Lodz.
The programme aims to create conditions for the development of cooperation of entities of the higher education system and science with the socio-economic environment, carried out within doctoral schools and consisting in educating doctoral candidates in cooperation with entrepreneurs or other entities employing them. The effect will be the implementation of these results of research activities carried out by doctoral students in these entities.
Professor Halina Abramczyk was honoured by the President with the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta for her outstanding achievements in scientific and didactic work and for promoting Polish science around the world.
Professor Beata Kolesińska from the Faculty of Chemistry at Lodz University of Technology has been awarded the Ambassador of Innovation prize by the Europejski Ośrodek Rozwoju Gospodarki. The researcher was awarded for conducting research work and pioneering projects with application potential.
