Joint inauguration of Łódź public universities
The first joint inauguration of Lódź’s public universities is behind us. On 2 October (Monday) at the Artur Rubinstein Philharmonic in Łódź, the 2023/2024 academic year was inaugurated by: Lodz University of Technology, the University of Lodz, Medical University of Lodz, the Academy of Fine Arts, the Academy of Music and the Film School.
Public universities of Łódź are ramping up their cooperation. They have made their first joint appearance under the common catchphrase ‘Study in Łódź’ during Salony Maturzystów, the largest higher education fairs in Poland, organized by the Perspektywy Foundation.

In August and September, six international teams of the Engineering Visions Summer School worked on proposing solutions to local companies' problems: Veolia Łódź, Geberit Ozoków, Borg Automotive from Zdunska Wola, and WDX based in Zgierz.

The Institute of Electronics in the Faculty of Electric, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering (EEIA) celebrated its 50th anniversary. The celebration, held just before the commencement of the new academic year, was held in conjunction with the gala of the XXIII Polish Conference on Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering.

A new state-of-the-art steel structure design lecture hall was opened at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering of Lodz University of Technology. The facility is a result of the cooperation between the Department of Structural Mechanics and Rex-Bud Budownictwo, a company specializing in general contracting of industrial, warehousing, and commercial investments.

The National Science Center has announced the results of the MINIATURA 7 competition. Among the prize winners are two female scientists from Lodz University of Technology, who received nearly PLN 100,000 for conducting pilot research.
As part of the celebration of the International Zero Emission Day on September 22, TUL employees and students planted several dozen trees and shrubs on our campus. It was the winning idea submitted to this year's edition of TUL's civic budget Idea Box.
In the first edition of the QS World University Rankings - Europe, published on September 20 Lodz University of Technology was classified 1st in Poland and 87th in Europe in the Outbound Exchange Students category, and 3rd in Poland and 45th in Europe in the classification of Inbound Exchange Students.
