The Public High School of Lodz University of Technology has officially been named after its founder – Professor Jan Krysiński. The ceremony, held on 9 September 2025 in the Prof. T. Paryjczak Auditorium at Alchemium, brought together university authorities, representatives of the city and region, educators, the professor’s family – his wife Dr. Halina Krysińska and son Dr. Eng. Almost PLN 52 million has been allocated to Łódź University of Technology for investments aimed at restoring the splendour of three historic campus buildings. The funds come from the regional programme European Funds for Łódź Voivodeship 2021–2027: Revitalisation of Urban Areas. During a press conference on 26 August, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector; Joanna Skrzydlewska, Marshal of the Łódź Voivodeship; and Monika Malinowska-Olszowy, Councillor of the Regional Assembly of the Łódź Voivodeship, spoke about the record amount of funding and the excellent preparation of the project applications.

A publication by scientists from the Institute of Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology – Maciej Nielipiński, M.Sc., Agnieszka Pietrzyk-Brzezińska, Ph.D., and Bartosz Sekuła, Ph.D., D.Sc.  – was honored by the Crystallography Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences with the prestigious title “Crystallographic Diamond” in the category of biological and medical crystallography. In this article, the authors present the results of their research and explain its significance.

Lodz University of Technology has secured over PLN 2.1 million in funding under the OPUS 28 + LAP scheme from the National Science Centre (NCN) to implement the project “NIR-CURATOR”, focused on implant-associated infections. The project will be carried out in collaboration with researchers from the Czech Republic.

Dr Magdalena Gajek from the Institute of General and Environmental Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry at TUL, has been awarded the Prize of the Committee of Analytical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the best doctoral dissertation in analytical chemistry in Poland. Her thesis was awarded the prestigious MS Spectrum Award, given for outstanding achievements in spectrometry.

In this context, innovations that combine operational efficiency with climate responsibility are gaining in importance. For just such a project, Dr Radosław Gajewski from the Faculty of Organisation and Management received the 2024 Award of the Polish Logistics Association.
