We bid farewell to the late Professor Jan Krysiński, who died on Wednesday 19 February. The funeral service, which took place on 28 February at the Archcathedral of Lodz, was concelebrated by Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś. He emphasised Prof. Jan Krysiński's extraordinary ability to build bridges between the world of science, the local environment and the community of the faithful.
Professor Marcin Kaminski, a prominent researcher from the Department of Structural Mechanics at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering, has been selected as a Maple Ambassador.

Dr hab. inż. arch. Bartosz Hunger has been awarded the academic title of Professor of Art in the discipline of Fine Arts and Art Conservation. The honor was conferred on July 29, 2024, by the President of the Republic of Poland.

Newly admitted international students have arrived at TUL from all corners of the world, including Asia (South Korea, India, and Kazakhstan), Africa (Morocco, Egypt, and Zimbabwe), and even South America (Colombia and Brazil). Interest from European applicants has also grown, with students from Italy, Sweden, Slovakia, and Georgia joining this year. They will study in both Polish and English at different faculties, including TUL's International Faculty of Engineering.

The universities of the Łódzkie Porozumienie Akademickie (Łódź Academic Alliance – ŁPA) collectively inaugurated the new academic year at the Artur Rubinstein Philharmonic Hall in Łódź. Attendees included university authorities, members of the Senates, faculty, students, and doctoral candidates from the six Lodz universities: Lodz University of Technology, University of Lodz, Medical University of Lodz, Lodz Film School, Academy of Fine Arts, and University of Music.
