Research achievements

Dr hab. Aleksandra Ziemińska-Stolarska specialises in sustainable environmental engineering and energy, focusing on the advanced application of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to evaluate industrial, material, and energy technologies. Key achievements between 2020 and 2025 include the development of a comprehensive LCA methodology for energy distribution systems in regional hybrid-electric aircraft, carried out within the European HECATE project. The results of her work, which integrate aspects of energy efficiency, circular economy, and decarbonisation, are applied in the design of innovative and low-emission technological solutions with a global reach.

Research profile and interests

The scientific research of dr hab. Ziemińska-Stolarska encompasses the development of LCA methodology and its application in the photovoltaics, composite materials, electronics, and zero-emission construction sectors. The researcher is engaged, among other things, in the environmental optimisation of BIPV systems and the integration of environmental and economic analyses (LCA/LCC), which constitutes a significant contribution to industrial transformation. In the near future, she plans to continue working on prefabricated, energy-active facade systems within the PRE-ActiVer project and develop research into semiconductors.

Industrial cooperation and expert activity

The researcher's scientific activity is characterised by a strong focus on international cooperation and industrial implementation. She carries out projects under the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programmes, collaborating with partners such as Airbus and Collins Aerospace, and actively supports the implementation of ESG strategies at Lodz University of Technology through carbon footprint analyses.

Furthermore, she serves as the Director of the Baltic University Programme in Poland, is a co-founder of the technology startup AKRIMTECH, and possesses experience in modelling environmental processes and surface water quality, which she combines with expert activity in the field of sustainable development.
