Her work focuses on creating interdisciplinary models that explain consumer behaviour towards pro-environmental innovations and the circular economy.

Professor Koszewska makes a significant contribution to understanding the role of eco-labelling, responsible public procurement, and circular business models.

Her high scientific authority is confirmed by her inclusion in the prestigious "World’s Top 2% Scientists" list compiled by Elsevier and Stanford University in 2023 and 2024.

Research profile and interests

Prof. M. Koszewska’s main areas of interest include sustainable production and consumption, circular economy, eco-innovation, and consumer product quality assessment. In her analyses, the researcher combines the subjective, often emotional perspective of the user with technological knowledge about the product, which allows for the creation of solutions that are effective on the market.

Currently, she focuses on designing mechanisms that support consumer decisions in circular business models, such as resale, repair, sharing, or reuse. Her research plans assume the further development of cross-sectoral cooperation, combining management sciences, product quality, and public policy for effective sustainable transformation.

Industrial cooperation, implementations, and expert activity

Prof. M. Koszewska’s activity is characterised by a strong commitment to the transfer of knowledge to the economic environment. She has collaborated with companies such as IKEA Retail (the "Textile Ecology" project), analysing consumer behaviour and supporting sustainable development communication.

As an expert, she serves in bodies such as the Polish Circular Hotspot, the Expert Council of the Polish Plastics Pact, and the board of INNOWO. Professor Koszewska actively participates in international research projects, including SAPIENS (H2020) and STAR (Horizon Europe), where her work focuses on sustainable consumption and the circular economy, with particular emphasis on sustainable public procurement, business models and ESG practices that support business transformation.

Her expert experience is also utilised by public institutions, including the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development.
